Overview

Glass New Tab Dashboard is a browser extension that replaces the browser’s New Tab page with a customizable, glass-style productivity dashboard.

We respect user privacy and collect only the data necessary to provide core features such as account registration, authentication, synchronization, and optional weather functionality.

Data We Collect

Depending on the features you use, Glass New Tab Dashboard may collect and process the following data:

• Email address (for account registration, login, and account-related communication)
• Authentication data (such as hashed passwords or login credentials processed securely)
• User settings and dashboard preferences
• Bookmarks and bookmark groups
• Widget layout and customization settings
• Background image preferences
• Optional location data for weather functionality

How We Use Data

We use collected data only to provide and improve the extension’s functionality, including:

• Creating and managing user accounts
• Authenticating users securely
• Synchronizing settings and saved data across devices
• Displaying weather information if the user enables location-based weather

Local and Remote Storage

Some data is stored locally in the user’s browser using chrome.storage. This may include:

If the user creates an account or uses synchronization features, certain data may also be securely transmitted to and stored on our servers in order to provide account access and sync functionality.

Permissions

Tabs

Used only for explicit user-initiated actions, such as adding the current tab to bookmarks or enabling media controls for supported websites.

Search

Search queries are executed using the Chrome Search API and respect the user’s default search engine. Queries are not sold and are not used for advertising purposes.

Content Scripts

Content scripts are used only to enable media controls on supported websites such as YouTube and Spotify. We do not collect personal content from webpages unless it is strictly required for the requested feature.

Host Permissions

Host permissions are required only for features such as weather data (for example Open-Meteo), map display (for example OpenStreetMap), and media control functionality.

Geolocation

Optional geolocation may be used only to display local weather information. Location data is used only for this feature and is not sold or used for advertising.

Remote Code

This extension does not load or execute remote JavaScript code. All extension logic is bundled locally.

Data Sharing

We do not sell user data.

We may transmit limited data to trusted service providers only when necessary to operate the extension, such as authentication, synchronization, weather, or other user-requested functionality.

Data Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect user data. Data transmitted between the extension and our servers is sent over secure connections (such as HTTPS).

User Rights and Deletion

Users may request deletion of their account and associated stored data by contacting the developer or using any account deletion functionality provided in the extension or related service.

Changes

This policy may be updated if functionality changes. The latest version will always be made available to users.
