Overview
ILIAS Speed Controller is a browser extension designed to improve video playback on compatible ILIAS lecture pages at the University of Stuttgart. It provides playback speed controls, keyboard shortcuts, and click-to-play/pause functionality.
In short: The extension does not collect, sell, or send personal information to the developer or any developer-operated server.
Information stored on your device
The extension uses the browser's local extension storage (chrome.storage.local, or an equivalent WebExtensions API) to save your selected playback speed. This preference is used to restore your chosen speed when you open another supported video or reload a page.
The preference is stored locally in your browser. It is not sent to the developer.
Access to websites and video players
The extension runs on pages matching https://*.uni-stuttgart.de/*, including compatible embedded frames. It accesses video player elements on those pages only to provide playback controls, change playback speed, and handle keyboard shortcuts.
The extension does not collect browsing history, account credentials, video content, or information entered on university websites.
Analytics, cookies, and advertising
The extension does not include analytics, advertising trackers, or its own cookies. It does not sell or share user data with advertisers or data brokers.
Optional Ko-fi link
The extension's popup includes an optional “Support me on Ko-fi” link. Ko-fi is a third-party website and is opened only if you choose to click the link. Once you visit Ko-fi, its own privacy practices apply. You can review Ko-fi's Privacy Policy.
Third-party websites and hosting
This policy describes the extension itself. It does not cover ILIAS, university services, or other websites you visit. This privacy-policy page is hosted using GitHub Pages; GitHub may process website access information according to GitHub's Privacy Statement.
Data retention and your choices
You can change the stored playback speed at any time using the video controls. You can remove the locally saved extension preference by clearing the extension's data or uninstalling the extension, subject to your browser's data-removal behavior.
